Every horse is different. Every rider is different. Every situation is different. The importance of proper saddle fit and rider balance is crucial to your success. The goal at Yellow Horse Tack is to provide knowledgeable, and yet practical solutions for you and your horse.
What are the benefits to having a saddle fitting consultation? Are you noticing behavioral or soundness changes that may be related to your tack? Is your horse bucking, rushing, refusing to go forward? Are you having balance issues or pain in your current saddle? Are you having trouble with leads, connection, straightness? Having your saddle fit evaluated may be the piece of the puzzle you are missing.
Saddles are not created equal across the board. Saddle manufacturers do not produce a one-sized fits all product. A medium does not fit like a medium in all brands, just as a Nike shoe sized 9 may not fit like an Ariat sized 9. It is important that you know not only what SIZE OF TREE fits your horse, as to know what TYPE OF TREE fits your horse. Conformation dictates how your saddle should fit. What you can expect during a saddle fitting consultation with Christina Beyer:
Assessment of your horses' current condition, review of medical histories that may affect soundness
Palpation of superficial muscle groups to determine if soreness is present
Measurements and sizing taken for both horse and rider needs
Evaluation of current saddles in use, assessment done under saddle with a rider
Recommendations to better fit, including adjustments needed, padding, modifications etc
Test riding demo saddles (see Stubben Custom Fitting)
Guidance on how to replace saddles that are deemed poor fit, including used saddle availability, consignment services, new saddle sales, custom saddle ordering (See Stubben Custom Fitting)
